Are walkers still good to use for a 6 month old?
i hardly see them anymore? are they unsafe or proven bad? I want to get one for my 6 mth old daughter. We have a single story house with a door that closes and locks to the basement. There are no stairs in the house.
what kind of injuries are children getting? how do they break arms and legs? all my nephews and nieces had one and not one ever spilled out, tipped over or had anything broken in them. I have 13 nephews and Nieces now

Our pediatrician told me never, ever put a child in a walker at any age. There have been too many accidents in them, regardless of whether they're sitting right next to you while they use them.

sure why not. but l would watch your daughter close and keep a close eye on her.
I used one for my son and had no problems I don’t see what the problem is but I think manufactures have decided that exersaucers are better and more costly….
i have one, i dont know about them being bad or anything, i think they just might be a little less popular with parents i enjoyed the one we have
In Canada walkers are illegal. We use an exersaucer instead.
yes that’s about the age they can start using it, if you are concern about a walker try out activity centers

Our pediatrician pretty much ‘banned’ the use of walkers. They said that they have seen way too many babies with broken arms and such because of them. I recommend an exercauser. They stay in place, but can move around in a circle while sitting in it and are alot of fun for babies. My 2 year old still climbs in it from time to time, as does my 14month old. Best toy ever! LOL
i use one…they still sell them in all shapes and styles… just dont leave them in it all the time. my son id 9 months and I leave him in it in the kitchen when I am sweeping up the room. just gate off and shut and lock doors. make sure you buy new do not get an old one that collapses for storage they are dangerouse! oh and always make sure that you have the hieght set right! VERY VERY IMPORTANT! not too high not too low
I love the walkers. My three kids used them without any problems. I feel it helps them learn there motor skills better for walking. The saucers that don’t move really don’t help them coordinate there legs. I have only had good results from the walker.
I had a walker for my 1st child and thought it was great and so did he with his extra bit of freedom and he walked well before his 1st birthday. My next 2 children didn’t have a walker and they walked several months after their 1st birthday. My 4th child we were given a walker and again she walked before her 1st birthday.
You just have to make sure your watching your child and they can’t go down bumps or stairs and things like that.
You know, commonsense stuff that all us parents know!!!
