Spray them with water if you see them doing.

Put a sign up in your yard. Just a small, simple one will do that say “No dogs in yard, please.” That keeps my dog and I away…

Fence the whole thing or set up a sensor to make your sprinklers go off evertime someone steps on your lawn.

It’s illegal for them to do that, they can get fined. Next time you see it in the act – go an tell them what for.

  4. Lewis

You simply tell them not to as they walk past. if you catch them in the crime, kick them in the balls and run away xD heh. jokin. just ask them politely. :)

give your neighbour a cat or get a gate

If you LIGHTLY spray a bit of lemon juice around the EDGES of your lawn, the dogs will stay away. Lemon smells terrible to dogs and slightly irratates their noses. Fences won’t be as effective because the dogs just might pee on those. Many owners couldn’t care less whose lawn their dogs use, as long as it’s not theirs…

Ok, I think that dog walker has no common sense so you just post one placard with the following notice “Please do not use my garden as toilet” or something, that will make sense for that person(s) I believe :)

Have some cats to guard your lawn and garden.

ok i have a bunch of ideas, 1- maybe a lil sign saying keep off grass 2- lil sign saying pic up after your dog or 3- sit on your door step cleaning your 12gage and maybe they will keep walking or 4- get a sign that reads, if you can read this your within range (picture of gun) 5- a lil sign that reads im allregic to you and your dogs sh*t!! 6- i agree with her… spray the crap outta them with the hose! man i hate rude people!!

try spraying the area with super peppermint water. the strong spicy smell will drive dogs away!

    how to make peppermint sray:
for a half gallon of water
    bay leaves around 5 leaves
    eucalyptus oil 2ml

    – boil the bay leaves in half gallon of water, drop 2ml of eucalyptus oil, let it cool, transfer in a spray bottle, and start spraying on areas you dont want dogs to go to. helps eliminate small insects.

    Here’s how:

That’s really inconsiderate. I would not hesitate to put a small sign at the edge of my property to make it very clear.

I try to always remember to carry bags for poop. There is one lawn that has a cute little sign in the yard that says.. please don’t poop here.. it’s cute..Not accusatory.
Caught my eye and I cross the street to MAKE SURE that I respect their sign.

They just leave it there? That’s gross. I mean, I don’t mind picking up after my own dog but having to pick up someone else’s is just laziness on their part. If we walk/go anywhere outside of our yard I always take one of those little baggie dispensers with me. Its small and holds pleanty of bags. And they’re only like $ 5 for the dispenser and around $ 30, there’s no excuse NOT to pick it up.

Back to your question – I would approach them about it. Kindly let them know that it is unacceptable. You could also consider puting up signs. Just make sure you can see the signs from all angles!** I’m guessing they could be fined if they were caught not picking up after their dogs. If it continues to be a problem you could take photographic evidence of the deed and turn them in.

**We were cutting across a big empty lot to walk to my in-laws house and some old man comes out and goes on and on and on for about 5 minutes about how he doesn’t want dogs walking through because people leave dog feces in his yard and he has no trespassing signs up. We were already well out of his yard by this point. Mind you, from the direction we were walking you can’t even read the signs that he had. He had two of them, one-sided, facing the right side of his property and one facing the back side. We had approached from the front. My boyfriend assumed that they were just property line markers.

Try putting up signs with things like ‘keep off the grass’ ‘clear away after your dog!’ Or try growing a hedge there (we have a hedge and it really works for keeping people off your lawn).
I know this idea may seem quite technical but set up a camera (any camcorder except phones). It’s actually not as hard as it seems. Just set one up and leave in your window outside the grass/closest to the grass/best view of the grass and leave it recording. Then, you can see who is allowing their dog/s to do their business on your grass.
If you are very desperate about keeping the walkers and their dogs from dropping faeces on your lawn; then perhaps buy a CCTV camera. As well as keeping an eye on dirty walkers and dirty dogs, it’ll also provide you extra security against burglars. As soon as the walkers see the camera, they will straightaway stop their dogs pooping on your lawn instantly. If, however, they fail to spot the camera, you’ll instantly know how is allowing their dogs to do such filth on your lawn.
You could, on the other hand, if you do not have a job/go to school/college/university or have a day off, sit outside on your grass in a chair with something to keep you occupied. Do this in the hours of the day when you think people are most likely to be walking their dogs. You can then find out who walks their dogs past your house and you are more likely to develop a vision of who may be letting their dogs do their stuff….

If you catch a walker doing this on either the camera, CCTV or just even watching them yourself. Approach them and politely ask them not to let their dogs poo on your garden. It isn’t something to be allowed and in some ways is quite disrespectful

I hoped this helped you with some ideas.

OH! And another thing, you can get these systems with high-pitched squeals that, when someone approaches it, it’ll go off, scaring away cats, dogs, etc (if you also have a problem with cats). I know somebody in our village who has one of these. They really work!

    Hope this helped xx

put a sign up in your garden saying no dog mess or something like that it always works. or no dogs on lawn.

  16. BrushPicks

Get a pit-bull and tied it to a pole at your lawn.

I guess I like all of these answers but if I were you I would have some rubber gloves near the door and when I saw someone doing that I would step out the door and politely ask them to pick up their dog poo. If they don’t I would use the gloves, pick up the poo, and throw it at them! I am willing to bet that they will only get poo thrown at them once and they will find another yard to poo in. I have no idea how legal it is but I bet it is effective. Also if they were to press charges you could press them right back for trespassing and littering. It might be something that you would like to get on video and put it on YouTube. I would watch.
