    more resistance, more exercise :P

  5. fluoralbus

it is just walking, you’re right…but with 3 gears!

  6. gcmsboy1234

does noone understand that all he is doing is walking. But on a elevated platform . If anything it slows him down. I mean serously. Its just walking.

  7. fluoralbus

It works the same way as the peddles of a bicycle, they can also be hold still when going downhill.

What happens when you go down hill? Is it possible that it moves so fast and turns the belt so fast that you can’t keep up?

  9. watarandomdude

    Haha

    I want one!

you’re in the gym and it slipped your mind to charge your mp3 player and/or phone…
then you’re SAVED by the usb power outs on the bike/elliptical/treadmill.

    :)

should generate enough for that, ay?

    greatest.. invention… EVER!

It’s a matter of economics. The energy produced would have to be stored, then integrated for other devices, necessitating both a battery and and outlet. The energy produced would be too little to warrant the hassle in application. Most exercise equipment is bought out of guilt anyway, with no real intent of prolonged use. So the IDEA of harvesting energy would be a good marketing tool, just impractical to implement.

I love this thing. Practical? Not neccesarily. Fun? Most likely. A new way of thinking of conversion of human motive force? Definitely. Lots of other amazingly unique, simple, and brilliant ideas on the oooms site, as well.

Of course it’s retarted, but I think it’s funny.
What pisses me off is that noone seems to be making excercise equipment to generate electricity. This is either mass-stupidity, a conspiracy, or both.

  16. internecineTurbine

why walk when you can look that badass

  17. listeel

Dude, calm down 0_0 Of course I wasn’t gonna buy it XD just making a point…

  18. izzye83

The world has gone mad. It is Consumerist BULLSHIT. Buy it if you want, but it won’t make you happy.

  19. listeel

Uh, no. It looks like this thing makes you do more working per distance covered, and in a different way than just walking. It’s probably a lot better workout

  20. izzye83

No, this is RETARDED. JUST FUCKING WALK!

  21. DigitalHeroCamera

    THAT is cool. Want one.

  22. neh13

Wow, checked out your website, you have some cool stuff! Your leg wagon was profiled on a news website in New Zealand!

  23. DestinyWishes

    that’d be pretty impressive.

  24. aurangelo

    Or just walk.

  25. gadget666

I thought the point of treadmill was that you can excercise without leaving the tv?
    just get a bike
