just finished peace walker and put the psp aside to let the credits roll, I dropped whatever i was doing and picked up my psp again when this theme played, it’s so powerful and moving, feel kinda sorry for big boss, being dumped after making out with Paz in a box…

@videogamenostalgia I guess in that sense I used the wrong words. What I ultimately mean is that it wasn’t the same director and most likely not the same image, so it looks like two different portrayals that don’t totally add up even if they are the same character.
@John234pwns Thinking that one part of a franchise has aged and doesn’t stand up as well as the others doesn’t mean that that part is no longer canon. If he doesn’t consider it canon, then it means that the events of those games didn’t happen in the context of the other games, and that makes no sense. It makes sense to say he doesn’t feel the NES games are not equal in terms of quality and presentation, but to say they are not canon is a BIG claim to make and fucks up the whole story…

@drago1uk2000 I’m not talking out the ass. Kojima has said that he doesn’t consider the NES games part of the Metal Gear Solid series in terms of their quality and presentation. It’s probably just gameplay, but Snake in the MGS games didn’t look like Mel Gibson, did he? I have no clue if he also means the characterization of the individual characters as well, so I can’t really comment on that.
@John234pwns How can the NES games not be canon when the whole of MGS1, and therefore subsequent games, rely on the events in the NES games having happened? Kojima has NEVER said he doesn’t consider the NES games to be canon, it’s only ‘Snake’s Revenge’ he doesn’t consider canon.
@John234pwns Talking out your ass, MG1 and 2 are both canon, they’re the backstory to mgs1, hence why Snake knows about Grey Fox.
