Zero teachers have been laid off….but the Unions are trying thier best to change all that.?
Rep. Barca proves the old saying: If you always tell the truth, you never have to wonder what to say. Doesn’t need a check? from Texas. Doesn’t need a check from New York. Just looks you in the eye and says the truth. I just decided who gets my vote for WI Governor.
Governor Walker gave large corporations in Wisconsin $117 million in tax cuts. Lets see the large corporations funded Walker’s campaign. So now he is trying to destroy the unions collective bargaining rights. Guess who benefits from destroying? the unions collective bargaining rights……..the corporations. I guess that makes Walker nothing more than a political prostitute to large corporations in the state of Wisconsin.It’s no wonder Koch Industries set up a lobbying office in Madison!
Here’s the problem with America: Everyone want’s to go to heaven but no one wants to die. Think about? it before you respond.? Oh and just for the record I am NOT religious so don’t think about it in the context of religion.
@fromtheinside848 enlighten me ?
It all worked for me… I now have? a well paying job and my property taxes went down. Thank you Scott Walker!!
@DataTasha4Ever let me guess is that in Dane or Milwaukee county where the school districts whored themselves out to the unions (as they always do)? by passing every bargaining contract a week before ACT 10 was legalized.. you can stand with Walker and put a end of this crap or elect one of these union owned liberals and have your taxes go up 67% as it did in Illinois
@thearmenianone
Last time I looked, Illinois was still the Illinois of the north. Maybe you mean Alabama? No, they added 38,000 jobs last year, while for the last consecutive 6 months of 2011, Wisconsin lost 35,000+. Louisiana? No, they added 47,400 non-farm jobs last year.
If only we could just ignore the 30,000+ jobs gained in the FIRST 6 months of 2011 under Doyle’s budget, and Illinois wasn’t already in the? north, you’d have a point. But we can’t, and it is what it is.
@tevbax why do you call those who peacefully petitioned their government in their hundreds of thousands “an angry mob”?
There’s a difference between damaging a building? and giving it more wear and tear than it’s used to. Note that since the painter’s union offered to do any and all necessary repairs for free, the only reason that its maintenance in this period early last year cost Wisconsin taxpayers even a penny would be due to a choice made by the Walker administration.
@tevbax A. He sent the state patrol out with the objective of arresting state senators, which is unconstitutional, period.
B. Act 92 means that if the subject of a civil suit can? sufficiently inflate the cost of suing them then justice will be denied anyone who can’t afford to pay their lawyers out of pocket regardless of the merits of their case.
C. I don’t have to argue the locking of citizens out of the Capitol building since the Walker administration already lost this one in court.
@tevbax the EPI study can be found as the first result from searching for “economic policy institute wisconsin public employees”. Note that the study was released on 2/10/11, the day before the? bill that became Act 10 became public.
@Alwitkow Fratney? Elementary.
I should add that I made a mistake and used the provisional July 2011 number. The? final number was 2,347,600 so 41,400 private sector jobs were created in Wisconsin in that 12-month period.
@TSchoeppe2004 agreed, everything was so? vague.. decline in education and healthcare?? um you mean we stopped giving teachers the viagra they were demanding?
@tevbax sorry for the delay. Comments? don’t seem to like URLs being posted. As I alluded to above, the source is the Department of Workforce Development. If you search for “wisconsin department of workforce development news” it’s the second link for me, ends in /news.htm
From the 2011 archive link at the bottom, find the 9/15 news release (this contains the provisional August number and the final July number).
From the 2010 archive link at the bottom, find the 9/16 new release.
@thearmenianone I think he meant in spending ;) which I would agree until Walker put an end to the? BS of them not paying a dime into their healthcare or benefits and of course WEA Trust which has cost us millions
Whos ready to elect Barca and? have our taxes raised 50-60% to pay for teachers BS established WEA Trust healthcare and viagra that they demand.. just as they did in Illinois. soorry no thanks I could use that $2000 a year
@DataTasha4Ever what school and when was this? Independent voters need facts.. vague references like Barca is doing dosnt work.. collective bargaining has been corrupted for the past 10 years this is why our K-12 spending has gone up 400%, yeah Barcca no shi* we were the most highly funded in education but when that spending goes to viagra for teachers then its BS and not in the interest of the kids.. its also why were the 7th highest taxed state, we as tax payers? have to pay for this BS
@ConservativeMKE
Kudos! Your best comment yet, out of how many? And no insults. Congrats!
You’re swooning over Walker, and I’m hungry for waffles (with a small? w).
@Zackrackle
Not speaking for Rep. Barca, but your question is valid and respectful, so I’ll respectfully submit:
The reason for the flight out-of-state was? for time to allow the people, as you ask for, to be heard. The repair bill was being fast-tracked in violation of due process and allowed no time for public input through hearings or comments to legislators, and barely time to read the bill if you had nothing else to do.
After that had been done, they came back.
