Why do all the dog walkers smoke?
Every evening when I take my dog for a walk I see lots of other dog walkers, and they are nearly all smoking. This is my theory- they are all closet smokers who don't want their spouses to know, and they use the 'walking the dog' excuse to get out and have a quick fix. What do other people think?

They’ve given up on trying to be clean. It’s a bit difficult to stay clean with a dog, naturally, and that’s okay. But smoking, yuck.
I personally don’t know any dog walkers who smoke, I’ve never seen it before here.
interesting theory but we don’t ALL hide from our spouses.
some of us are actually responsible pet owners who give our dogs the physical exercise and stimulation they need every day…..and several times a day…… and just happen to be smokers as well.
if you knew anything at all about smoking you’d know that there is no way to hide the odor of smoke in and around your clothes and person so ‘walking the dog’ as an excuse would never fly….the spouse would know as soon as they walked in the door they tried to sneak one.
maybe they just all smoke? that’s a more plausible theory……and in my neighborhood, none of them except for me do.
i think thats a interesting question. maybe for some people, yes. but not all people who walk their dogs smoke obviously. i see what ur saying though. probably for some people who have trouble with quitting smoking, they make any excuse just so they can get out of the house. whether its “im gonna go walk the dog” or “im going out to get some fresh air”, im sure some people might see walking their dog as a opportunity to go on a smoke break.
